and Happy Birthday!! ok first, i realize everyone else thinks it’s awesome, but I DO NOT think being in a earthquake was fun at all! Well, at first I did when my chair started shaking and i looked over at Jon cooking chicken and he was shaking and the roof was shaking and I thought, WOW this is an earthquake! and then it didn’t stop and i thought WOWOWOW! this is an earthquake!! and my babies are sleeping in this shaking house! and then it stopped and jon says’ “hehe, that was weird” and kept cooking his chicken! a little freaked out, that’s all I’m saying.
so ANYWAY: Merry Christmas! Since my big doomsday 30th birthday is this Thursday, Jon and I finally cashed in on the present my parents gave us for Christmas which was a couple nights of babysitting! People without children, do not underestimate the luxury of eating your food when it’s hot, starting and finishing a conversation on your FIRST try, not having to instruct the people around you when they do in fact need to use the potty, or having to explain to anyone (for the millionth time) why we don't touch other peoples faces with our feet.
So we escaped, and we had mucho fun! We stayed at this great Bed and Breakfast called the Secret Garden in the Orchid room with our own little balcony looking out to the ocean (it was a lovely foggy day, i love the fog, maybe because I miss the seasons?)
All three of the rooms open into this beautiful little courtyard
which is connected to the backdoor of the Secret Garden Cafe, where Jon had green eggs and ham for breakfast! (You can try and leave the kids at home…)
We walked down to the beach where we had to cross over the train track (we took lots of pictures for the boy, here are two)
and of course a picture of a coast guard helicopter (it was awesome)
and of course some obligatory tourist shots
And let’s just say I feel lucky that Jon is entertained by “Unstable” things and does not feel inclined to ‘stay back’ clear signs or not
And that was just the hotel, wait until you see what we did on Saturday… you’re gonna have to because I’m home now and I just heard a crash, so stay tuned for part 2

I am so happy that you had fun and I can't wait to see what else you did. The earthquake sounds scary, was this your first "real" one? You hot in your coastal picture, so maybe we don't want to know what else you did!
Look hot. Why don't I ever proofread before I push publish?
Sucks about the earthquake - I was wondering whether you'd have felt it or not. I'm glad you guys got away for a while - that place looks so great!!! Happy happy happy happy happy birthday soon :)
Love the bangs. Love the outfit. You look fabulous! That Jon of yours is a lucky man. I hate it each time I say it but California suits you SO well.
