VIP

It was like going to Disneyland with a Rock Star. 43 (that picture reminds me of a 50’s pin up! A Rock and Roll      Cherub :) As if her fat face and Kewpie Doll Mohawk weren’t enough, she went all out Disney Glam  with a little face paint.  1211       She was very serious when they were putting it on. But not when they showed her the mirror!                               1316      We couldn’t walk two feet  without people pointing and smiling or saying ‘look at that baby!’ And we were at Disneyland. Where you can look at babies all day long! No big deal, right? She really was a show stopper :)

18It might also have something to do with her adorable determination to text message all future teenagers. (don’t worry, the only person she can text so far has been Andrea.)26 So what do a couple of girls free from the boys do with a couple hours at Disneyland?!                                                              29303132 No, NOT Buzz Lightyear. We go on It’s a Small World over and over and OVER again until it’s time to go home, that’s what!

61And then I take a million pictures after the ride is over but before we get off the boat. And then I make you look at them :) (this section is really best for grandma’s and aunties or you might go into sugar shock from all the sweetness!!!!)(or weirdness…)36434447644951 60          I Think she had a good day, but you’ll have to ask her:62

Awe Shucks! She’s my favorite daughter I ever had!55         Happy Birthday Miss Pinky-Toothy Alice Jean Evans King!

Miss Pinky Miss Toothy

Miss ALICE!! Happy 1st Birthday!! cake I vaguely remember swearing to myself that I wasn’t going to dress my girl in head to toe pink all the time when I was pregnant. Fast forward to Birthday Number One and an ALL PINK CAKE for my SUPER PINK GIRL :)

More pictures to follow for sure, but for now just know before we ditch Russell at school (and head off to It’s A Small World!) that she has already had a morning of good times with her present from her cousins in Baltimore, and is looking forward to spending some gift cards with mommy later. Woo Hoo!

Against my better judgment…

but this made me laugh so hard I had to post it. I don’t hate twilight! I read it, I’ve seen the movies, I had a good time doing both! But this video is funny no matter where you sit on the matter. Disclaimer, there is swearing. Oh, and once you start it you sort of can’t stop, it sucks you in! you’re officially disclaimed.

p.s. it’s even funnier the second time

Gladiator

Sorry, I’ve been sleeping off the Turkey (and sniffles from this lame cold everyone in my little fam has had for weeks. Ugh.) But we are feeling better and still have some leftovers in the fridge, so we’re GREAT :)  But I’ve been slacking here and there are a few things you should know so I’ve made a few posts tonight I will put up over the next few days.

First:  I present my little Gladiator!  1123092057_thumb[1] As those of you on facebook saw when it happened, Russell Smacked his face on a pole in line for the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland!! 1123092131_thumb 7 stitches! Glue on his eye! Haunted Mansion scarier than ever and we didn’t even get inside! And now all he can talk about is how the doctor gave him lego’s. Another benefit of a short attention span :D1123092214 1123092215 If you ask him about it he will tell you “I was looking at my friend and then I fall down and I was crying!” Poor guy still doesn’t know what hit him! Her name is Mari, and she is pretty cute! I understand his distraction!  IMG_0578

He’s feeling much better now, he has had an awesome shiner for days and as we always say “chic’s dig scars”…

Happy

1106091238a

Happier1106091448

Happiest1106091448b

And that might have something to do with a bottle or (mmm hmm) chocolate covered pretzels… OR because of our ‘auntie’ Erin coming to play for FOUR WHOLE DAYS! Woo-hoo!! 1109091638 We were very brave and did one fun thing a day, then bummed out the rest of the time while eating junk food and talking BOYS. Or we would have if weren’t so busy talking about grown up stuff. Ok, we talked about boys. And watched reruns of So you Think You Can DANCE! Dance dance dance dance…..

We didn’t take pictures of Erin babysitting :D or of going to the Mall or the FAN-TAB-ULOUS Rose Bowl Flea Market, but we did get some pictures at the Mission San Juan Capistrano. 1109091624 Which is sort of like wandering around inside the most beautiful postcard you’ve ever seen. Or running…1109091634d1109091605 Why can’t I get a picture where they are both looking? Or at least one where he isn’t Picking His Nose?!!1109091606a And of course we LOVE the Koi Pond. Who needs Disneyland when you have fish that are big enough to eat your face? Russell has an awesome fear/fascination with these ‘monster fish’1109091612c Apparently Alice doesn’t realize there are monster fish nearby.1109091615 We would have stayed to protect her but IT WAS TIME!!! The real reason behind these last four glorious days finally arrived Monday night when we went to the So You Think You Can Dance Live Tour!!! We only have a couple dark (very excited) pictures

1109091930a 1109091931

but it. was. awesome. We have decided Hell or High-water or the Children won’t keep us away in the future. Hey, you, SYTYCD Season 20 Live Tour?! We’re on our way!

I wish Phillip could go every year. Sigh. :)

Howdy Sailor

Happy Veterans Day to all our brave and awesome American Veterans! And Happy Veterans day to our very own Sailor Navy Man, Jon!! aka Daddy!!

Since Jon’s Birthday is two days before Christmas when we were childless newlyweds (oh the things I would love to tell those two!) I used to make a big deal out of all the other little holidays associated with Jon to try and make up for the fact that he gets kinda glossed over on his birthday.

And since we have had children every holiday seems to get glossed over (or slimed on :). But not today! Today I dug deep and pulled out some residual newlywed spunk and we celebrated our Sailor Dad-io Right! 1111091540 We took cupcakes to his office… dressed up like crazy patriots!1111091545a I promise the kids had fun despite this picture:1111091545 Jon came rushing out of his building when I called and told him someone had scratched his new car!! Only to be attacked by Knee High Uncle Sam Impersonators.1111091546 (disclaimer: I absolutely did not ask Russell to do that with his hat in every single picture) (but it’s awesome)

Oh, and this might be one of my favorite pictures of all time:1111091547b       Can’t top the wierdo, but here’s a little death by cuteness…1111091547d And I even made him a dinner that had nothing to do with children or dieting (the things that seem to run our kitchen these days) BBQ JalapeƱo Poppers (you know, stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon!) I am only showing you pictures of this because next time I get energy like this, both my children will be in college! DSC04379 Happy Day, Everyone! I’m exhausted!
